What inspired Blue Petal?

Our founder loves collecting souvenirs from his travels and wanted a simple way to connect those keepsakes with the photos and videos behind them. Blue Petal was created so you can tap your phone to a keepsake and instantly relive the moments that matter.

What is Blue Petal?

Blue Petal is a creative technology studio in the Eastern Townships. We design memory tags, enhanced greeting cards and other gifts that blend physical beauty with digital memories.

How does it work?

Each product contains a tiny smart chip that allows you to build memories and attach memories when tapped with a smartphone. No app required. Everything works directly in a mobile browser — no downloads, no accounts. It works like magic, powered by the same technology used in contactless payments.

Phone compatibility

Works with any modern smartphone, iOS and Android. iPhone X or later and Samsung S8 or later.

The platform isn’t loading when I touch the keepsake with my phone. What can I do?

Different phones detect in different locations. For an iPhone, place the top of the phone near the keepsake. For Samsung, the detection point is more near the middle of the phone. On some Samsung phones the NFC detection may be off by default. You can enable it in Settings → Connections → NFC.

Can I modify the memory?

You can update the memory anytime if you create an account after your memory creation. You can sign into your account at bluepetal.ca. Accounts are free.

Is it private?

Your memories open through a private link only you control, and are only accessible via your keepsake.

What can I use Blue Petal for?

Weddings & anniversaries, travel and adventure memories, family legacy, souvenirs, and more. Just about anything where you want to preserve a special memory and attach it to a souvenir.

How long will the memories last?

Memory Tags are guaranteed by the manufacturer to last 10 years. If stored indoors and in protective casings, like those sold by Blue Petal, they are expected to last a lifetime — 50+ years.

Any special care instructions?

Avoid bending, creasing, moisture, extreme heat, or heavy pressure, and clean with a soft dry cloth. Store away from prolonged sunlight or strong magnets.

How many photos can I add?

Up to a maximum of 20 photos. That will create an approximately 2 minute slideshow.

How long can I make the video?

Up to approximately 1 minute of high quality video, depending on your phone camera settings.
